Law Office of William N.Theriault 1910

Theriault & Joslin, P.C. is located in Montpelier, Vermont, where William Theriault first established his practice at the turn of the 19th century. Since the formation of Theriault & Joslin in 1946, the firm has developed a successful litigation and insurance defense practice that has contributed to the evolution and development of Vermont law.

William N. Theriault studied law in the office of Dillingham, Huse and Howland in Montpelier, Vermont. On Mr. Dillingham's being elected to the United States Senate, and Mr. Howland joining the National Life Insurance Company, Mr. Huse retired and Mr. Theriault inherited the office. (Mr. Howland later became the president of National Life.)

Mr. Theriault later had George L. Hunt of Island Pond join him in the practice of law under the name Theriault & Hunt. This partnership was terminated in 1946. It was at this point that Fletcher Joslin joined his father-in-law (Mr. Theriault) in practice.
